In late January we ventured to Colorado to attend Outdoor Retailer, get the scoop on what's new in the industry and bring you a RVers Guide to The Country's Biggest Outdoor Event. While in the Mile High City we explored the place known for its adventure culture and my, did we find inspiration! REI's Denver flagship store is number one on our list. If you've not been to this unbelievable space, we encourage you to run, not walk, to this outdoor gear oasis. Inside you will find the Pinnacle Climbing Wall, a 47-foot monolith that has over 6,400 square feet of hand-sculpted rock surface. It contains 12 top-rope and two lead-climbing routes, with the difficulty of routes ranging from 5.4-5.13. You'll also find a children's indoor playground, right in the center of the second floor. Equipped with two slides built into trees, a tunnel and mock stream. REI's General Manager, Pete Citrano stated, "the inspiration behind the play area is an increasing connection with kids in the outdoors, even in an indoor environment."
